Cockfosters Cricket Club was founded in 1873 and has a rich history of Cricket in the Cockfosters, North London area. Residing in what is a quintessential ‘English cricket’ setting, Cockfosters can boast the names of cricket legends like Chris Cairns in the professional ranks and Jack Hyams in the amateur ranks to have both donned the colours of Cockfosters Cricket Club in competitive league cricket.

Other playing members have gone on to represent Middlesex CCC and Hertfordshire CCC at youth and senior competitive levels respectively. Also, in more recent years, we have nurtured through our youth ranks the likes of George Panayi who has represented Warwickshire and England at youth levels (we wish George all the best for the future). Many other youth members have had the opportunity to flourish in county youth trials.

Cockfosters prides itself on playing the most competitive cricket it can in the true ‘Spirit of Cricket’ and shows fantastic commitment to the youth section and community in general. We hold an ECB Clubmark accreditation that proves this commitment.

Cockfosters Cricket Club runs 3 league teams on a Saturday, at levels that suit everyone, competing in the Saracens Hertfordshire League and 1 team on a Sunday which competes in the North Herts Sunday Cricket League. In our inaugural season in 2022 we gained promotion to Division 1.

In 2003 we won the Becker Transport Cup against Preston and in 2011 we reached the final of the Readers Herts County Cup, losing out by 4 wickets to Letchworth. In 1998 our 1st XI won the Herts League Div 1, whilst in 2007 our 3rd XI were Champions of Division 9. In 2016 we proudly lifted the inaugural Hertfordshire Sunday Twenty20 League.

During the season practice sessions take place every Wednesday evening (provided there are no home Youth fixtures) between 6pm and 8pm.
