CCC Race Night

We are delighted to announce that we will host a Race Night at Chalk Lane on Friday 18 July and it should be good!

8 pre-recorded (but previously unseen) horse races will be shown on screen, and you will have the opportunity to bet via the Tote.

There are 4 ways in which you can participate and support our wonderful Club, but please feel free to do more than one if you wish. With a Race Night, as you will see below, you can still get involved even if you somehow already have other plans for that evening:

1) 'Buy' one or more of the 48 horses which will be competing in one of races 1-6. This will cost you £10 per horse and gives you the opportunity to win a prize (worth at least £50) AND have the fun of naming 'your' horse with that hilarious (but appropriate) title that only you may find funny. This purchase should be made in advance in one of the following 3 ways:

    1. Via the Bar in the Clubhouse in which case I will also need the name(s) of your horse(s); or
    2. Payment to the CCC bank account, including the name of your horse as the reference; or
    3. Contact Stephen Smallbone directly (Chair of Sponsorship/Fundraising)

The horses for the last 2 races of the evening will be auctioned, so if you miss out on the initial 48, then there will be a final opportunity to ‘own’ one. There will be a cash prize for the winning horse owners of races 7 and 8.

2) Contribute £50 or donate a prize of a similar monetary value to sponsor one of the races which will be shown on the night. For this you get to name the race itself, have your name on the racecard and receive a complimentary drink on arrival. Please contact me directly if you are willing and able to sponsor a race.

3) Come down to the Club on 18 July. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start. Entry is free, leaving you with extra funds to gamble (responsibly of course). You can bring food with you and/or use the break to fetch some from our friendly neighbouring businesses (some of whom will hopefully have Sponsored a race…)

4) If you can make it to the Club on 18 July and would like to help me run the event then please get in touch. There will be plenty to do: run the Bar, Tote, Auction etc.
